Is My Room Mate Overreacting About The Noise?

January 5, 2009
  • ok I am quiet all day when I am in the house, I rarely invite my dog or girlfriend over, and I am always gone on the weekends and even sometimes during the week. When I am in my room I am quiet, and when I listen to music I listen to it with my headphones on after 10 and don't slam any doors.

But sometimes my computer chair will move a couple times and the door is closed and he accuses me of waking him up and gets all mad,
(note) he isn't the friendliest guy when I do have guest they are nice to him and polite.

But he says I wake him up a few times a night when I am not always on my chair. He then thinks it could be raccoons outside.

I even turn my TV off when I leave my room. I am thinking of moving

  • It is very obvious that you have been making a great effort to be polite. Something he is not doing in return.

Home is supposed to be sanctuary. That one place that regardless of what one's day holds that you can relax. You can't come home and have this sort of business going on.

I could get all into it as I have been down this road. But I won't because the answer is simple. He has issues that could not be solved even if you paid rent and were not there for 2 months. You could toss your chair out. He would manufacture some other issue.

Who worries about raccoons? They are not going to eat you and all that needs be done is to keep the trash tight. It sounds like there is a mental issue all of the way around.

It is time to move even if it costs a bit or is a hassle. Peace of mind is everything.

  • Get some heavy metal on a big *** stereo, pump that **** to the max then haul *** outta there after about an hour

  • yes. move. a computer chair doesn't make noise like that. you already walk around on eggshells for him. he is rude to your company. time to go. best wishes.

  • This guy sounds like he is impossible to live with!. Leave and let him fester on his own. I think that's what he wants.

  • to me, those stuff is just minor, it sounds like his overreacting.
